How the Eucharist Changed My Life

Why do less than 30% of Catholics believe in the Real Presence? It seems like many have forgotten that Jesus gave his flesh for the life of the world.

Today, Fr. Mike reminds us of the gift of the Eucharist and shares the way it transformed his own life. It is the heart of our faith, our spiritual nourishment, the bread that we live for, and the teaching worth dying for.

I was raised Southern Baptist and have been looking into Catholicism. One of my hang ups is the Eucharist, I got out my Bible and read John 6 along with this video and I can say that I no longer have doubts. Thank you for what you do, it has helped me tremendously.

My 94 year old daddy (who just passed) spent his 1st 64 years of his life questioning God. Then he read a book on the Eucharist and started going to daily mass 32 years ago. He went from being a worldly, quick tempered, ambitious, man without God to a humble, saintly, man who carried my invalid mother in his arms for her 10 last years. When I asked “daddy what changed you?” He struggled to answer because he choked up with tears. Finally, he was able to get the words out, “the Eucharist”. Amen

This teaching is why I converted from being a Calvinist Protestant to the Catholic Church at age 50. It is the truth! Thank you for this beautiful, passionate explanation, Father Mike.

“There is nothing so great as the Eucharist. If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us”
St. John Vianney
Praying that all Catholics truly believe that the Eucharist IS Jesus. Thank you and God Bless, Father Mike!

This is so comforting. My children have to go to mass every Sunday and they hate it. I pray every single day for their conversions of soul. Please pray for them.

Beautiful. I was raised to observe the Protestant repugnance of transubstantiation, yet I always felt instinctively that the Catholic belief int he Eucharist was the one that Jesus preached. Thank you for sharing this, Father Mike.

I'm 20 and people are always so surprised when I say I go to daily mass. Like we have this amazing gift of Christ's body and I have the opportunity to get it DAILY and that doesn't at all call to you?? Receiving the body of Christ has been my favorite thing from converting to Catholicism and the thing that just keeps me so motivated to continue my faith. I'm just so grateful for it. I say this almost every morning to myself after receiving it, I say if i could live only off the eucharist I would. Like genuinely

I had such a beautiful miracle happen when I was a teenager on a youth retreat with a tabernacle door and a friend who is now in religious life. She asked me so directly, "Do you believe He's really in there?" And when I said yes, the door opened. He's really there. I've always believed. As a teenager I would sit for a long time in the dark church in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I love Him, but it's nothing compared to how much He loves me. I try each week, to help the kids in religious ed to come to know this love is real and available for them. He wants us to be the tabernacle.

Learning that Jesus used the word "trogo" (to gnaw) in the Bread of Life Discourse is essentially the teaching that changed my life. Thank you for speaking about the Eucharist, and I hope all hearts are transformed by this

Going to daily mass really changed my life, being in front of the Blessed Sacrament and receiving the Eucharist made my day so much better. Nothing in this world will ever satisfy our heart, only Jesus, only the Eucharist.

I first wanted to become Catholic because I was fascinated by all the sacramentals. After RCIA and by the time I was received into the Church, it was the Eucharist above all else. It was the only thing that mattered

Thank you Father Mike, my wife and I came into the church ten years ago as life long Protestants learning about Apostolic Succession and the real presence I could not turn away. I love the church and her teachings, thank you Jesus!, God Bless you Father

Although I came back to the Church, fully, 20 years ago - it wasn't until they 'shut the doors' for 5 months did I truly realize how important the eucharist was in my life.

The Eucharist is the ❤️ of the church. There are times when my health prevents me from going to mass for weeks on end and I yearn for Jesus in the Eucharist so much. I remember the first time the Eucharist was brought to me at home, my dad was a Eucharistic minister at the time, and I found myself panicking and cleaning up as sick as I was. I just kept saying “Jesus is coming to ME! ! I have to clean up!” Then I realized I needed to just sit and pray to prepare my soul. But I will never forget that first time he came to ME instead of me going to mass. It’s so beautiful it makes me cry every time 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Thank you, Father Mike, for expressing your love for Jesus in the Eucharist and for explaining the increasing intensity of Jesus talking to the people and us about how he offers his body and blood to us to eat.
