Alonso “Bribe” is a bit misleading, turns out he’s always shared podium money with his crew and the media just took the word bribe and ran with it which is why it came up in research!

One thing I think makes Alonso's races so special its the fact that he has never been a consistent polesitter. He is the guy that if starts on P6 can be P2 on the second lap, and later save his tires better than the leader and win the race. And these are the races we really enjoy

Fernando didn't brive anyone at McLaren, he always shared his bonusses with his team, since 2003. Alonso sharing his podium and race wins bonusses with them was deliberately misunderstood by british media as brive

Alonso didn't bribe any mechanics, he shared his win/podium bonus with them as his success was also because of the mechanics good work.

Another Facotor for me is how he can adapt to drive anything, LMP1, Rally Dakar Machines, it's amazing

One thing you missed about hamilton and alonso is that often times in mclaren alonso got much worse strategy calls than hamilton, and even had reliability issues in his car.

Fernando is not only my father. Is the father of all Spaniards, and everyone in the world who loves this sport 🇪🇸

He always manages to push the car to limits and adapt to them, he can drive clean while fighting too wich makes him the goat

fernando is a rare driver who can be put in any machine and you know hes getting the absolute maximum from it. if he had gone to redbull and stayed when he had the chance he wouldve been untouchable. horner talked about how he wanted to sign alonso i think in 2009 for 2 years.

You got at least one fact wrong. ALONSO didn't bribe anyone. Back then, all drivers used to give the extra money they got from their wins, to their own engineers as a bonus. Schumacher did it, everyone who had wins and prizes used to share part of the money and gave it with his own side of the garage as a bonus.
Saying that Alonso bribed the McLaren team is a LIE

They didnt used to.

Ive been a fan since I was 12, that was 2003. I skipped school went to friday practice at Silverstone in 2006 as we couldnt afford weekend tickets.

After 2007 he was hated, especially in England. Even when he was challenging Vettel he was disliked. People begrudgingly said he was brill in 2012 and as soon as he went to McHonda people were saying he was past it and was a whinger.

On his comeback, he was slated. It wasnt until Hungary 21 that the newer generation of fans suddenly discovered who he was.

Its weird after 20 years of being a fan and being laughed at for so long to see people praising him.

Im just glad the Wife let me keep my massive wall of Alonso cars in the living room and all the signed pictures and paintings on our stairs.

Alonso always looked up to Schumi because of his level of motivation. This year, I found it most beautiful to see how Alonso was approached by Perez in the Brazilian GP through the onboard footage. That's when you could really see what Alonso is made of. Thank you, Alonso, for motivating us so much through your attitude and for sacrificing so much in your life for us.

5:50 - He never had the best car but he always did his best.

That’s the answer to the question of the title. The rest is just a history lesson of one of the best drivers that ever stepped into F1

Not to mention his brilliant drives in the Indianapolis 500 in 2017 where he qualified 5th on the grid in an almost completely new car for him and was in the running for a victory until he broke down. Then in Le Mans 2018 where his car was if I remember correctly 2.5 minutes down on the race leading teammate, and by the time Alonso finished his 4 night stints, it was down to 40 seconds or so (don't quote me on the numbers, it was long ago and I don't remember if maybe a safety car was involved or other troubles for the other car, but I do remember he was a monster in that race). I saw a graph of each driver's pace in that race, and not only was he the fastest on average, he was also the most consistent - while driving at night and handling traffic in a car that he had only driven in one actual race before that.

Time flies, 15 years ago half UK hated Alonso. 15 years later, we are watching a video called Why does everybody love Alonso.

As far as I know, in McLaren, Alonso was giving part of the prize money of the wins to HIS MECHANICS something he has done in other teams, he wasn't giving money to team members to help him as you said....
