These dudes look like a child’s drawing of a fish

Gentle giants. One of them is currently in a Japanese aquarium that has been temporarily shut down for renovations. The caretakers noticed that the sunfish stopped eating and started being worried until they realized the sunfish was getting lonely without any visitors. So, they created human cut-outs to cheer the animal up and the sunfish started eating again. Truly, gentle giants.

They are also super curious and friendly. They're really fun to swim with.

He isn’t a weirdo. If you were a sunfish you would think another sunfish was fantastic. They are such neat and interesting fish.

Fun fact: in German, this fish is called "Mondfisch" (Moonfish) because when adult specimens sunbathe, their grey skin looks like the moons' surface.

Remember, Jellyfishes can be invasive. The sunfish basically clean up invasive jellies and allow other mammals to take a bite out of the sunfish's self. Basically being a jellyfish-to-meat converter.

After visiting an aquarium with my family as a child, i was arguing with my sister when she said "you're an annoying little gremlin" so i said "well you're an ocean sunfish!" And my parents still talk about that from time to time
