My 23 year old daughter has triple A and earlier this morning had a flat tire on a rural road in western Illinois. She called and they said they would be there in 30 minutes. Then called her back and said they were not coming. Why pay for a service if they don’t come when you call. Thankfully a lady passing by stopped and helped her. Triple A you should be ashamed of yourself.

Before I had AAA, I had a motorcycle without it. Crashed and broke arm. Couldn't ride it back home even though it still was ridable. Towing it cost me $600 for 150 miles. All of 400lbs. Decided having AAA was a good idea.

I’ve always had good experiences with AAA. I think the most important component is the local vendors who do the work for AAA.

If you have a college student with no car, AAA is a great idea. AAA covers you as a passenger. If the car you are a passenger in breaks down, you are covered.

There are a limited number of tow and road assistance companies in every town. Whether I use AAA or insurance road assistance they will farm the same pool in the town. I rarely call either for anything other than towing. If I have a flat tire they also come handy. Other than that I don't feel confident with them working on my cars

If looking for an alternative road service plan always read the fine print. A lot of them restrict the tow to the nearest service station of their choice, which often is just a few miles in an inner city area. Anything beyond that is on your own dime. AAA will tow to wherever you want within the mileage radius of your plan.

I had triple AAA for awhile and never used it though so I can't give my opinion on it, but know that insurance companies who offer roadside service isn't the best and pay for services up front and send the receipt to the insurance companies and hope they will pay for it.

I have used AAA for 24 years now. A single mom, and used it for my daughter when she was young. Overall good experience. They replaced my battery for free because it was still under warranty. They have a 6 year warranty that happens incrementally. I have had one concerning experience with a dishonest individual several guys in a truck when I ran out of gas in a church parking lot. They asked if I had cash for the gas that they were out. I said I don't think that's how it works, I called AAA while they were waiting and AAA took care of the situation. Somehow, mysteriously they came up with money and came back with gas and filled my car enough. So, yes, the individual contractor with AAA for that one time was kinda scary experience. Otherwise have always had kind folk who were very helpful! I am in need of another battery we will see how it goes. It's low quality and car struggling to start sometimes. They can argue this a bit. If I think about it I will follow up on this channel to let you know how it gets handled. I am a female and don't know squat but I can read a print out that says needs battery check in 3 months and my car place gave me their printout from September 2022. Good to know alternators can go bad if running on a poor battery. Did not know that!!

In 24 years AAA, one shady experience and they made sure the contractor did not follow through when I called AAA while they waited. It was the contractor/individual who got a poor ratingfrom me. Doubt they kept them around. I'd say that's pretty good.

I like keeping my roadside assistance separate from my car insurance.

Member since 1996, 5 kids all adults now, but all on AAA from 16 till adulthood. Gas, towing, flats have been great, , but yesterday called for tow at 1:30 pm. Truck arrived at 6 pm. After talking with my oldest daughter found out she has been left for 2 1/2-4hours on her 2 calls this pass year.

He didn’t want to warranty it because we work on commission. But you also said something was left out on the invoice; a missing vin or especially missing mileage (back of the invoice, as you mentioned, requires a minimum mileage) voids the warranty.

I am a Battery Tech for AAA Texas, in the Dallas area for 4 years now. Here in Texas we supply interstate batteries, and this situation sounds very disappointing. Although, in Texas we cannot warranty a battery bought buy the previous owner of a vehicle. Very rare do I have this happen, but still a disappointing experience from what it sounds. Club Assist makes the majority of batteries in the northeast (not very well made) but warranties will differ from state to state. So hard to say if the technician was in the wrong, we do our best to completely satisfy our members! It can definitely be a challenge when we have 20+ calls holding at a time with very few employees working. Sorry to hear about this experience!

How have you been Jim...hope all is well....I to think Interstate is a fine company...about 5 yrs ago my battery went in my 96 Lincoln being on a budget my Interstate dealer offered me a blem and it cost me 50.00 1000cca needed for the winters here in new york and surprised me by offering to install it which I was glad for and it's still going strong today around 5years ago

I have paid for AAA service for 23 years, and have never used their roadside service. Unfortunately, today I had a problem with my car, and promptly notified AAA. I notified AAA at 11:12am, and the agent told me I can expect service within 2.5 hours. At 4:00pm, I had to find service myself, having NEVER received a call from a AAA dispatcher, never received service, and considering the amount of time that had passed since I notified the agent that I required service, a courtesy call,
just to let me (paying public member here, ) know I haven’t been forgotten, or worse yet, my service request wasn’t “lost, ” is the MINIMUM one would like to receive from a
company that has a slogan, “expect something more, ” but I didn’t get anything until 4:03pm, by which time I had found service, myself, and arranged for the service,
without ANY ASSISTANCE FROM AAA! Not only didn’t I receive the service within the 2.5 hours quoted by the agent, the call to confirm my need for assistance came nine (9) minutes short of FIVE HOURS after notifying
AAA. Because of the monopoly these companies have, they hide, in fine print, their
freedom from liability in regard to service response times, and when we give our dues to AAA, we have, in all actuality, thrown our money away, because the response that AAA
gave me when I reported their lack of assistance or a timely response, was that there is no guarantee, implied or otherwise, that they can arrange the service we’ve paid for, since they work with vendors to provide the roadside assistance. In short, AAA will take our money, and if WE are late paying those dues, our “membership “ in the company that says “expect something more “
is promptly terminated. If you have had a similar experience with AAA, register a complaint with the company, and contact your states Attorney General’s office. Whether they agree or not, we have purchased a service, entered into a contract with AAA, and we are entitled to receive that service in a reasonable time period. Failure of AAA to maintain an adequate service pool is not our added expense to bare. If there are
enough complaints registered with the state’s Attorney General’s office, a Class Action suit can be presented for failing to have adequate providers for advertised service.

AAA abandoned me, stuck in the snow on in the cold dark night. It took hours to manually free myself. In very cold weather. At night.
I had the most expensive towing package that they sell. (RV Premier or something).
I was on a road. 100ft from a US Rt Highway that was plowed.

If your battery needs a jump start and you want to call AAA, don't tell them you need to jump start tell them you have a flat tire, why? Because they're not going to send you the nearest and fastest service truck, they're going to look for the nearest battery sales van even if it's an hour away, in order to get the chance to sell you a battery, by wasting your time.
I always have a cable with me, so if there's no one around me to give me a jump start, I call AAA and ask for a flat tire service, of course they're not going to send me a guy on a bike. The flat tire service will come on a motor vehicle that has a battery and if they don't have a jumper battery they can just jump start my car using my own cable.

I locked myself out of my RUNNING car today. I needed to charge the battery. "Steve" showed up and got me back into my vehicle. It was my first call to Trip A..and overall, I was happy. He also was able to get into my car without damaging ANYTHING. Thanks STEVE!! Thanks Trip A.
