Easy plasma torch cutting jig hack that will get you repeatable parts every time.
It’s definitely not a CNC plasma cutter but it’s definitely more affordable and gets the job done. I’m definitely not the first to make plasma cutting jigs but I don’t see much on this subject on YouTube so I decided to make a video with my own swing on things.
How to plasma cut, plasma cutting, cutting metal with a plasma torch, DIY cutter templates.

Mike, people that don't love themselves can't love others, please take those comments for what they are worth, nothing at all. We love you here in Indiana, thanks for sharing your great projects, reviews and advice and motivating us to get out in the shop and create.

I can tell you one thing that would be helpful to have, is a template for cutting out steel end caps for square, rectangular and round tubing in various sizes. EVERYTHING I build gets tube ends welded closed....or else wasps will DEFINITELY nest where you don't want them to. You can make templates for ones that sit on the end of the tube, or ones that fit flush inside the tubes.

We make Plasma Stencils similar those, along with other common sizes and shapes too. The torch sizes do vary quite a bit depending on the machine. For custom stencils like your gussets, I tell people to just add the diameter of the torch tip to the desired size. I like how you mentioned drag cutting, any machine with an actual drag shield is ideal because the stencil can then be metal and not throw away. The other nice thing about stencils is you can use them to cut where a CNC can't go, like on vehicles or anything large. Keep up the good work!

Great idea especially with the flat paper clamp, stacks easily on the wall. 😊

Great idea! I think I will use some scrap paneling I saved for some reason, well now I have a reason, I will take all the Negative Nellies offshore fishing for free... Very cool knife! Thanks for all the tips and tricks, you are helping us build better!

Thank you for these excellent tips. This is exactly what I needed today - I would use such a templates instead of switching to angle grinder :). Next time I'll know.

Mike, I really enjoy your videos and I learn a ton of cool things from you! Keep it up! Tips and tricks are always welcome. I just bought a Bestarc plasma cutter from amazon and was wondering how to make easy inexpensive jigs for things. The clip boards are awesome!

Out of the various light duty plasma cutters you've reviewed, this one, the bestarc, titanium, etc.. What would you reccomend for go karts, minibikes, and things like that?

Also I have been watching your videos for a few years now. Have learned a lot and purchased a yeswelder mig205ds and a few other things off your reccomendations. Thanks for all the great learning content!
