So heartbreaking… I’ve been through all of those galleries multiple times over the years. How do they even begin to recreate or create enough artwork to replace what was lost.

They can try and replace the tangibles and and the buildings holding them The island feel is not coming back. Its just not

No offense to the artist in mainland but they didn't lose their families they didn't lose their houses and they didn't lose their jobs they still have houses they still have their families and they still have all their supplies to make work

Maybe I'm hard hearted, but I don't feel the loss of their art, the way I would if the historic art museums of America and Europe burned. Those museums are the world's heritage. The artwork in Lahaina was produced by these artists to make a profit. Any insurance that covered them, should provide them with lots of paint and supplies to make more art and money.
