Great tips and resources. Another tip when booking accommodations is to look for hostels or hotels that offer a free breakfast. One tip you mentioned that I sort of disagree with is negotiating everything. When I'm in a local market, for instance, I usually just pay full price, or even gringo prices. The vendors are often quite poor, and I feel cheap and petty trying to save a buck by paying less than they ask for. Of course, you don't want to get ripped off, but if they are asking $4 for something, and you try to get it for $3, it just cheapens the experience a little. On the other hand, if you show kindness and generosity to a local, you might find yourself invited to their home for a dinner or fiesta.

Love your channel. Aside from the context, which is a godsend for any digital nomad, your way of delivering the data with no bullshit and direct approach is pretty great. Keep up the good work!!

I would love a separate video on travel cards. I don't currently have ANY credit cards, but there are soooo many out there, it would be nice to have your help narrowing down the options.

Solid list. I would add do the research before the departure. For instance the best way to travel in Tokyo and Japan is with JR Pass, which one can order for better price before entering Japan. Regarding grocery shopping in Japan, supermarkets discount gourmet food after 5 pm. Everything is freshly made the same day and needs to sell before closing.

Great tips, but a word of warning about ride sharing apps. Don't use them for anything important. A friend staying in Lisbon saved a lot of money by booking a flight out of Porto (3 hours away) but ended up missing it when her ride share didn't show up.

Great tips. When I traveled solo I used to budget more and stay in less expensive places than before. I also did budget tours geared towards younger folks like the GAdventures tours for 18 to 39. Now that I am older and have a husband, we do stay in nicer places and leverage points and miles rewards a lot. Thanks for the shout out to safety wings. I am looking for a good travel insurance for our honeymoon trip next year.

Great video and help! I'm planning my extended world travels next year, after I retire. I would like to hear more of how to use travel rewards cards. Also, how much cash (USD) do you recommend to start traveling and be left stranded?

This was wonderful! Lots of great advice! I need to see a good rundown of different loyalty programs so I will know which ones to use. I also would love to see alternative ways of moving items for travel (i.e., services which deliver luggage). I hate carrying things but often need items I can't always buy at the location ... Or things like books for research. 😊

Thank You Kristin for such valuable resources. I'm very soon to be a full-time nomad and have learnt quite much from you already. An in-depth video about travel credit cards would be really awesome 😁

Thank you so so much. Planning to retire in 3-4 yrs but already thinking about taking some solo trips to get my feet wet, hopefully next year when we have better control of this crazy pandemic. Won't need to penny pinch like some of the younger folks but your tips will still be invaluable, practical and immensely helpful. Saved the video.
