fingers changing size is one of the most challenging things about wearing and collecting rings. I’ve heard of some couples who turn them into necklaces and wear them like that, which seems like a sweet work around

I’ve done this many times as a paramedic. Often incorporating ice and elevating hand above the heart for a few minutes prior to wrapping does a great job as well.

It does work! Used it once for my sister. And once for a patient who couldn’t get her ring off but had to get an MRI. Her deceased mother gave her the ring.she was not my patient but I heard the doctor said they were going to have to cut the ring off and I ran in the room to rescue the ring!

I can tell you this. I was a mechanic and I jumped down off of a machine. My wedding ring got caught on a bolt on top of the machine. I was so lucky that day. I'm 6ft 7 and I was on my tippy toes for a moment. There was NOBODY and I mean NOBODY back there with me and I knew I couldn't scream for any help. I mean I guess I could've screamed but it would have been pointless.
I was able to compose myself and jump up just enough to to get my ring unstuck. I did however break my finger. When I went to the ER, the doctors wanted to cut my ring off cause of how swollen my finger was. I was lucky and I asked them to get me some Lube like KY jelly. They brought back some stuff that would make KY jelly look stupid. It was called astroglide or something like that. I put that stuff around my finger and it slide off like I didn't have a swollen finger.
My doctor that brought it to me said this junk is so good that you can put it around a car and park it in the doghouse. It worked and I told my wife that I loved her very much and I'm sorry, I'll wear the ring around my neck from now on. This was 32yrrs ago and I'm now retired. I still wear it around my neck and not my finger.

Been in the same situation. Was drunk and tried on a ring. Forgot all about it, until I woke up with a finger double the size as when I went to sleep. They used a bolt-cutter at the hospital to get it off. The relief was second to none 😅

people listen. when you shower, sleep, or go swimming. remove the ring. it doesnt have to stay on you forever. otherwise its going to grow into your skin...

the ring doesnt prove loyalty or anything. its your actions. its just a piece of metal.

I’ve used this trick. I smashed my hand in my car door, but my wedding ring took the brunt of the force. It saved my finger from being crushed, but got very bent and pushed into my finger cutting my fingers slightly. I couldn’t get it off due to the bends and the swelling. I remembered seeing a similar video about using thread to get a ring off a swollen finger. I had yarn for a crochet project in the car and used that to get the ring off. I had driven to the jewelers to have them cut it off but decided to try this in a last ditch effort to save the ring.
The jeweler was amazed I had gotten it off, but when looking at the damage on my fingers also said he had seen similar injuries, and I was lucky my setting had the diamond so high because it saved me from crushing my finger.
This trick works.

Omgosh, that's so genius. Specifically how the fabric or material was used to shift the skin where it clumped up, and then helped guide the flow for the ring to slide off... They should teach this more often 🤷

I felt the relief of both getting the ring off and still having the ring intact. Wedding bands mean a lot to people, especially since they're usually engraved, and a replica just never really feels the same as the original ❤

I had to use this trick once and it worked, it wasn’t as easy as seen on the video but we weren’t at a hospital and I had to make it work with the ribbon of a bag.
