Cervelo Caledonia Road Bike | Long-Term Review

We get a lot of questions about the Cervelo Caledonia road bike, so we decided to do a long-term review to properly test it out. Gearhead Jono rode this bike for thousands of miles over the course of the season, including multiple rides over 100 miles.

The Caledonia sits between Cervelo’s dedicated race bikes and their gravel bike to provide an endurance road bike that can even handle some gravel or cobblestone riding. Gearheads Jono and Sydney talk through all of the tech specs, ride impressions, and they even weigh Jono’s custom build.

During the initial lap, I maintained a relaxed pace. However, on the second lap, an equipment malfunction occurred right after the first turn, giving you the chance to catch up, especially on the straightaway. The strong 30 mph wind lifted my seat, causing distractions and difficulties in turning as I tried to keep it down. Unfortunately, this led to a lap time of 1:22. In hindsight, I regret not requesting a do-over; if anyone needed it between us, it should have been me. Your lap time of 1:13 was solid in comparison.

I was looking thru your website today to try to upgrade the wheels on my 2023 Caledonia 105 (same specs as the 56' Teal one you have on your site... wheels alexrims boondocks 5) but Im a bit confused because it seems that with some wheels you need to get hubs, and it seems some frint & rear wheels might have different sizes.

So what wheels should I consider? -> I would like carbon, disc brakes, normal tires; Im 60 so Im not looking to be the fastest in the bunch, but something that does a nice upgrade but not an exorbitant one.

Are the 303s only tubeless, or can they use normal tires? Do they need extra components, like hubs?
