I fully understand the zoos position on the private sector keeping venomous. A lot of them are very irresponsible and if they get bit, it most often falls to the zoo to bail them out with their expensive antivenom, with almost always no reembersment for it. How ever, there are responsible venomous keeper who are having much better results with their breeding programs than a lot of zoos, mainly because it’s not a 9-5 job like at a zoo. And where responsible venomous keepers are concerned, I don’t think a zoo should dictate policy about private keepers, again the responsible ones, from keeping what ever they want.
