Solid Surface Seamless Sink Trimming in Corian Countertop

Trimming a solid surface sink is easy with the right tooling. Using a 10 degree flush trim router bit will cut the excess solid surface countertop flush with the sink. This procedure will make sanding the sink simple starting with 220 grit sandpaper.

Each solid surface seamless sink has a specific router bit. When you visit the router bit website, look up your sink number and you will find the proper router bit to purchase.

I’ve been scouring the webs for good info on building solid surface tops. I kinda got thrown into this profession just because I’m a trim carpenter. Go figure I love wood but nonetheless I’m here. A year or two some fairly straight forward kitchens and commercial bathroom vanities until now. 100 sheets in my shop to build two high school science lab countertops. 6 classrooms each. The main issue is it’s black !!!! I’m having a real hard time getting it sanded and scotch brited to a consistent black color under bright lights. Any advice appreciated. Second I love that sink flush cut bit but what do you glue under mount sinks with that are not corian ? ( silicone) I’ll probably become a pain in your butt if you answer me because I so desperately need quite a bit of guidance. I’m completing a bunch of tops but I want to know if I’m doing things right and if there’s a quicker way. Like for a drop in sink what tool would you use to make the cut out with which doesn’t have to be perfect?

I am looking to do an undermount installation with a ceramic bowl on a Corian countertop. I fear that it will not look good if I cut it flush. I would like to make a rounded edge that overflows a bit. What do you think ? Is there a router bit that allow to do that with the bowl in place? Thanks!
