To my ears in this video anyway, the Marshall sounds much better. Even for all those country licks, which is surprising.

The Marshall had more bottom end, which made it sound fuller and louder. Would like to hear this comparison with the Twins' bass dialed up a notch.

I have this Marshall and its a very good amp. Not the better tube amp ever but it does the job very well.

Thanks for this review. I own the Marshall but this convinced me to get the Fender too. The Marshall is classic compressed Marshall tone which I love, but the Fender captures that classic Fender sound, wide open, oozing with tone, “thunks” you in the chest 😊.

I own a dsl40cr and play My LP and ultra strat through it. sounds good to me.

The DSL40C is a great amp. The gain knob really lets me set it to the perfect fat, 'edge of breakup' tone. The Presence and Resonance knobs really help fine tune the EQ for a big yet sparkly tone without being complicated. One con though is the reverb kind of sucks... very, very weak. If you have a pedal though it's no problem.

Excitedly recently bought the Twin Tonemaster. Godawful amp. Just ok clean, shocking with pedals. Had an original 70's model which was great. This thing is no relation. Dsl clean is great and takes pedals like no other.

Which amp would y’all say could work better under distortion pedals? I’ve wanted both of these but can only afford one, idk how well they would work with a rat distortion or a big muff.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Can you let us know what speakers you’re running?

Loved my tonemaster but I missed tubes so much. I knew better but had to try. Traded it in for a Fender made in USA blues deluxe. My other choice was a dsl 40. I still plan on getting a dsl 40 and using it with the Fender with an ABY box. That's how you get "that tone." By mixing a Fender and Marshalls tone together. Great video and comparison. I could immediately hear and tell the difference between digital verses tubes. Tonemasters just don't have that vibe like a tube amp does especially when you power scale it down and drive it. The more you drive it the more processed the sound is. Imo the boss katana artist sounds warmer and more tube like than a tone master.

Marshall all the way. I don't own one, I'm a Vox guy. But it had more low end.

This is great for owners of that Marshall amp though- You guys should form a club and make these kind of vids. Now anyone who has actually played either of these two amps in reality knows this is ridiculous but i am not for making people feel bad. keep up the good work guys

I think the Fender needs its bright switch turned on.

I’m really surprised by how good that Marshall sounds clean. Maybe even better than the Fender for a rock and roll, bouncy, bitey but fat and full clean tone.

Marshall sounds better, but it's a real tube, Fender Tonemasters are solid state, but its not bad..

The Marshall was recorded "louder", and louder always sound subjectively better. For the tone master, what was the attenuator on the back set to? On mine, if I have it full up, and the volume set to 7, it peels paint from walls, and it's into mild fender overdrive (bluesy, not metal). If you were direct recording from the XLR outputs, then part of that A/B comparison is to make sure the volumes are the same...

Fender is a one trick pony, I prefer a good plexi with a boos pedal, it cleans nicely

Nice comparison. Im rather surprised by the Marshall to be able to hang in there with the Fender. I feel the Marshall is just a whisker too boomy. Cant go wrong with either amp imho. Switch to heavy rock and the Marshall is going to smoke it.

Fender e melhor, para alguns estilos
de música, Marshall muito bom
para Rock, está faltando fio terra
Estão fritando no som.
Mas gostei muito da comparação
Quase que iguais, pela categoria
Dos aparelhos, abraços!!?
