@kelo8996 The game play was captured using our VC500 device from a Playstation 2 game console unit running Arcsoft Showbiz. You can also use EZ Grabber, the other software application that comes with our VC500 device, to capture game play as well.

@accordeuroTypeR We have used the VC500 to capture from the PS3 using a laptop and a desktop. The laptop was a dual core 1.8 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM, along with a Radeon X1200 video card. The desktop had a hexacore processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a Radeon HD 6950 video card. Both systems were running Windows 7. Lag was experienced with the laptop, but not with the desktop.

@jfp070843 There is a scissor icon above the storyboard called "Multiple Trim" that will allow you to edit out breaks, commercials, and any other parts from your video.

@alwayssaynever123 On the Capture module, click on the button that says "Device Settings". On the window that opens up, click on the tab that says "Video Decoder" and check that the video format is set to "NTSC_M" instead of "PAL_D". Also, you may want to check that the Audio Source is set for "Audio Pin Source" within the Capture module. You can also try using the EZ Grabber software to see if you can capture video without the noise.

@MrMacadoo With our capture device, it brings over the video from your source uncompressed. The AVI format will take up the most storage space on your computer. Usually, when burning to a DVD, you will want to pick the "DVD" format where the file size would be about approximately 1.2 - 1.4 GB for 30 minutes. As for 720p, given that this device only does up to 576i, it cannot output to 720p as it is. At the moment, we do not have any plans of releasing a capture device for 720p as of yet.

@GamerDudeXtreme The quality is as good as you would get for composite video. Depending on what source (VCR, DVD, video camera, or game console) you connect to it, the capturing of the video and audio usually has no skips or lags in it. Most times, the lag is caused by having a computer that barely meets the minimum requirements to run our device, or from the video card being low quality. Always playback the recorded video after capturing to see if there are problems.

The version you have is an older version of the VC500 device we originally sold. The one that this video discusses is for a newer version of the VC500 with different software attached to the device. Contact us at Technical Support for updates using the VC500 on Windows 7.

@celebritybarb I would first check with the other software program we use with our VC500 device, the EZ Grabber, to see if you get the same issue. If it does occur again on another capture software application, then I would try another VHS tape or another VCR to see if it gives you the same problem. It is possible that if the VHS tape was a commercially produced movie, it have have copyright protection on it and this may be the reason why the capture stops at the same point.

@MrTCM817 You can do voice-overs in using this software. However, you will have to adjust the volume if you have background noise so that people can hear your voice and not just the background. This option is available above the storyboard by clicking on the microphone icon.

@96komodo If the information it is asking you for is the license key, that can be found on the back of the envelope where the installation CD is located. On the flap, there is a sticker and the long alphanumeric code is the license key. You will need to enter in all characters, including dashes, in order to install the software on your computer.

@TheSuicidalGerbil When you open the TotalMedia Studio program when creating your DVD, you can double click on the text that says "Double-Click Here to Add Text" to edit the text that will show up on the final product before burning it to DVD. You can also preview the entire production on the next tab before going to "Produce" to burn to DVD.

@SP199208 As far as I know, the Arcsoft Showbiz program does not have an option to allow videos to play in slower or faster speeds. You can fast-forward or reverse your video clips, but the speed of how the clip plays is not changeable.

@mysteryfonzie (cont.) As for recording, you would need to stop the recording in order to output a video file as our device is not designed to record for a set duration of time before stopping. If you are referring to burning videos to DVD, if it is slow, then I would recommend trying a more faster computer, or turning off all Startup processes on your computer as this may take away resources from your computer to render and write the data from your computer to the DVD.

@mysteryfonzie Most DVD's when burning may take around 40 minutes to an hour to burn up to 2 hours of video clips. This will depend on the specs of the computer you are using with our software, from CPU, to RAM, to DVD burner write speed. Faster speeds will allow for faster writing of data to the DVD disc.

The static noise could be from the sound card on your computer or the cables going from the source to our VC500 device. I would try a different source (VCR, camcorder, TV, DVD Player, etc.), a different set of composite cables (if you have them), and uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the sound card (or update the drivers for the sound card) to see if it fixes the problem. You can also try installing our device on another computer to see if you get the same problem.

@RandomGaming26 I would check to see if there is a setting on the Xbox 360 that you have to change to set it for composite video to allow our device to detect the hardware it is using. Make sure that only the Xbox is connected to our device and you may want to try using a different set of composite cables to see if the signal may be weak due to a bad set of cables.

@mysteryfonzie If you are trying to record video from copyrighted material, then it is possible the black rectangle is a type of protection the video has to prevent copying the video. I would try recording using the EZ Grabber program that came with our VC500 device first and then edit and burn the video clips to DVD using Arcsoft. I would also try another VHS tape or another VCR or DVD player to see if you get the same problem. Also, try another USB port or another computer to see if that works

@lennydoeswalkthrough After loading your video clip into the storyboard, there is a microphone button located above the storyboard. It will open an audio recording utility where you can start recording your voice by pressing the record button. When you want to stop the audio recording, simply press the red record button in the audio record utility and the file will output in wma format. You can then incorporate the file into the project storyboard and then adjust the audio if necessary.

@lasana35 (cont.) The most likely problem with your setup would be the source it is set to for our device. By default, it is set to "PAL", which is a European and eastern country system format. The setting for most countries in North America is "NTSC_M". I would try changing the format within the EZ Grabber, if possible, to see if the image will pop up then from your Xbox. Assuming the video format is setup correctly for the Xbox to use composite cables, you should see video after this change.

@OttoQuast May be an issue with the video card in your desktop if the video played on the laptop without problems. You also may want to try adjusting the sound either through the player or through Windows system sound to see if it improves the sound output.
