The Great Debate: Miles ‘won narrowly’ says former premier

Former Queensland premier Campbell Newman has shared his thoughts on the debate between Premier Steven Miles and Opposition leader David Crisafulli ahead of the Queensland election.

Mr Newman believes Steven Miles “won narrowly” for reasons such as body language.

“I personally feel Miles did better than expected and I don’t think the way that Crisafulli projected on the night worked for him,” Mr Newman told Sky News host Steve Price.

“Miles won narrowly.

“Body language and the way people project in these debates is really important and I just thought Miles spoke to the audience.”

Debates between politicians are pointless. It only matters what they do, not what they say they will do.
If you vote for the left, you get big government, big taxation, more welfare, more rules and regulations, greater impositions on business, less freedom.

Let’s get one thing straight…the debate was a waste of time..I will never get back the time I spent watching …they where trying to be like Trump/Harris even down to the advertising material….Miles hasn’t announced all the candidates till 14th…Crisafulli..has not announced all his policies…..basically nothing constructive came from the debate….Crisafulli has not even addressed ambulance ramping…these are like a pair of rabbits caught in the headlights…they are both wet behind the ear. They need more experience.

Labor won't win with Miles there. Unfortunately many good local members will lose their seats because of him. But, they voted him in and kept him. That's not to say that the Liberal leader is a good choice, just an alternative. Miles will be replaced after the election, too late for them though. I'll be voting for my local Liberal member as always.
