In This Week in MXA episode number 90, presented by O'Neal, we put the bone stock 2023 GasGas MC250F, MC350F and MC450F head to head for a lap time comparison. MXA's Assistant Editor Josh Mosiman is a Pro rider who just raced four AMA Nationals this summer in the 450 class. In this video you can watch the highs and lows of test riding when it's 100-degrees out and the track is slick. Plus, if you haven't seen them yet, check out our full in-depth reviews on these bikes in our TESTED videos on our channel.

"You could ride like that all day if you were in shape!!"🤣🤣🤣 Quote of the day for all of us. Great video Josh and crew!

I’ve got a 350 gas gas myself and I think there so underrated. A vortex, pipe and suspension and it comes alive. More people would benefit from mid capacities imo. Great video 🤙🏻

About time the Japanese manufacturers made a 350 version of their bikes, as I believe they would sell really well. I'd love to race a CRF350R!

You're next MXA Test ... run a 350f in the nationals next year. Try the test again with the suspension set up for your skill level.

Made it into the show this year at southwick on the 350. The bike feels a lot lighter, you can brake later, lean the bike much easier, and is overall more fun to ride. I don’t want to lug a heavy 450 around especially at a local track I’d rather a 350 where I can rev out the engine. A little engine work and a vortex I’m at 60hp and don’t feel at a disadvantage at any track.

They should have thrown in the 300-SX 2-stroker/smoker hopefully KTM keeps putting in the time & money for research & development to advance the two-stroke I got a chance to ride the new 300 two-stroke the torque range is amazing

Love what MXA is doing these days with Josh. So awesome. Can't get enough. Great job Josh. Pray that Michael is healing up. You need to work with him on that no crashing rule🙂
That 350 just might be the sweet spot. I have a new 2023 KTM 300 and after racing 2 strokes for over 25 years, the 4-strokes and now almost 59 I am struggling on the 300 smoker. I love it just got used to be lazy on my 450. I really wanted a Husky 350 tis year but got talked into the smoker. I did a ton of work on it before I ever rode it. It is sweet and I like it but I'm just not the aggressive anymore. The 2 strokes are more attack mode if you ride them right. Although I see lots of folks just sitting down and lugging the 300's. Just don't believe that how they should be ridden. But to each his own. I'm more of a stand up all the time style rider. But I must say I think I'll pick up a 350 thumper as well next year.

It would havee been better to do more than one lap per bike. Maybe 5 laps each so we could compare average times, slowest, and fastest lap times between each bike. That being said, I'm not surprised by the results.

Josh you should ride 350 for one of the 450 pro nationals next year and see how you do 💪🏽

I am by no means a pro rider, but I came to the same conclusion as you. I had a 450 but felt like it beat me up and wore me out. Almost bought a 250 because I could ride it so hard and it was so fun. On a whim, I tried the 350 and now that is what I ride. GasGas350... Best of both worlds! I would love it for some of the pros to show up to some races on 350s. Would make for some really interesting story lines.

Id like to see this test repeated with a Pro rider, A rider, C rider and a newbie.

I just watched the video on the 300sx 2 smoker and his lap time on it was 2:00 what's up with that?

Fun video Josh! That 6D really got the test when you crashed on the MC450 - no fun testing helmets! Not surprised on the lap time comparison results - wish someone at the pro level would race a 350 (maybe you can next year). The 350 is such a great combination of power/weight/handling for any rider. Remember when KR94 lead Daytona a few years ago on a 350? Looking forward to more back to back lap time comparisons;)

Great video. Without a stop watch a riders perceived "fast" doesnt mean anything. You can feel how ever you want but a clock doesn't feel anything, it just counts time.

You should have given the 450 another chance, or maybe do 3 laps on each and take the average.

And there is the fun factor. Always more fun to ride a slower bike hard.

450's have become so powerful, that they're simply not even fun to ride anymore..

Only a few people can put a 450 To it’s potential.
