Change the Column or Measure Value in a Power BI Visual by Selection of the Slicer Parameter Tabl

The trick I am about to explain in this video is used in many samples, and it is not a new trick. However, it is very useful, and many Power BI users are still not aware of it. Let’s say you have to columns: Cost, and Sales, and in one chart, you want to show only one of the measures above, but the selection to be done in a slicer. You want the user to select either the cost or sales and then see that value in the visual. Another example is that you have all the time intelligence calculations as measures, and you want to have a slicer to select what to show as the value in the chart. In this video, I’ll explain how you can do that.

This doesn't work with columns, only with measures. I get following error with [Sales All Measures] DAX - "A single value for column 'Y' in table 'X' cannot be determined. This can happen when a measure formula refers to a column that contains many values without specifying an aggregation such as min, max, count, or sum to get a single result.

Is it possible that the formating can differ per measurement. For example, I have currency as a measurement, but with other measurements it must be in percentages? Is there a solution for that?

Can we switch among columns without creating aggregated measures, and switching among those measures?

Hello Radcad! thank you for this but I made use of your technics and creating a dynamic column with DAX measure but when I am putting it on the axis within the bar chart it only shows the first selection even if I select something else, Kind assist by providing more details on how to do it. Can you create a table as per slicer selection .. consider I'd column in a rows like 1, 2, 3, 4. And a slicer using this I'd column.. now if I select I'd from slicer 3 then a table will be created which has all data with I'd 3. Please let me know if requirement is not clear

Hi Reza, is there a way to change the measure name dynamically . Like in your video when you select Year to date or Quarter to date the measure name should change accordingly instead of " All Measures". I understood how to change the title dynamically, can the measure name also be changed dynamically?
