How to rename dimension column and row headers in Tableau

In this silent video, you’ll learn how to rename a dimension to create an alias for dimension column or row headers.

1. Duplicate the dimension field.
2. Rename the new copy of the dimension to the desired name.
3. Drag both the new and old dimension fields to the Columns or Rows shelf.
4. Right-click the header that should not be displayed and select Show Header.
