Knowledge is a convinction that a held belief, which in reality is true, is true.

To put this in other words there are two requirements which have to be met in order to know:
(1) You have a conviction that a held belief is true.
(2) That held belief is in reality true.

The funny part is when you define the words: conviction, belief and true. I won't bother you with that now, but it makes it seem even more repetitive.

- Is it possible to know? Yes, maybe, probably, I think.

If one were to have such conviction, and if in reality the held belief is true. Then one would by definition know. Yet, in order to know whether a held belief is true, one has to have another belief (again by definition). So, it might be possible to know (if there is truth, a reality, possible to have a conviction, possible to believe and for our mortal souls to get that all right(if our mortal souls exist(if there would be existence, etc. etc.)). That would also mean it's possible to know that you know.

- Is it knowledge always based on belief? In two way, yes.

First, all knowledge per definition is based on a held belief. Secondly, it is per definition always based on a conviction. Meaning, it's similar to trying to divide 1 by 3. There you will always have some fourth fraction left which is undivided or the fractions are unequally divided. You can be convinced to know to know to know to know to know to know to know to know .... infinitely ... that you know.

I'm convinced I know all the above. I'm also convinced you know it not. It's only human to disagree for irrational reasons.

Sidenote: What makes you believe that you think?
