Will this prevent vapor lock on the new 2007cc motor in Old Red, the 1969 Bus?

This video was produced for members of my VW club. I wager other VW Bus owners who operate their bus in a hot climate might benefit by adding a similar system to their bus.

😃👍 That's pretty ingenious. I suppose most rear mounted engines would have this problem then, correct?

Newer gas with ethanol will tend to boil in the fuel pump and then get more heated in the oddly placed VW line and then ultimately boil over in the carb bowls making way for vapor lock. It makes this vehicle dangerous to drive and makes the bus almost useless in the summer months. Redoing this factory blunder with a 5/16" brake/fuel metal line that was not in the heat path would more than help.... But I would have, (as I would in most all old relics) run an electric fuel pump to a fuel pressure regulator which then would be run to the carb and have a return to the gas tank so that the gas is always flowing and not overheating. It would render what you have done unnecessary and cranking the motor would be somewhat instantaneous.
