Brand New Zero Turn Toro Transmission Issue

preview_player
Показать описание
This is a 60 inch Zero Turn Toro mower model# 75760. It has 6 hours on the meter and is approx 3 months old (mowed for the first time a couple weeks ago). This video documents a loud hissing and sluggish right hydrostatic transmission. It is having problems moving at a steady speed. Sometimes the motor does not turn AT ALL (just a loud hissing). Barely backs up. When moving forward, it is much slower than the left hydrostatic motor. Tracking problems both forward and backward. Sometimes it does seem to work though. I'm told that these hydrostatic transmissions are bullet-proof. Any advice on what this problem could be are greatly appreciated.

had the exact same issue on mine - here's how I fixed it (for now).... disengage the transmissions with the 2 thin levers in the back and put it into "push mode" there are stickers right above on the frame that show how to do it. Start the mower, run it at about half the engine RPM and move the levers slowly forward and back all the way maybe 10-15 times. Turn the engine off, reengage the transmissions again, jack up the rear wheels safely, and repeat.... this time the wheels will turn at no load. This will bleed the air out of the hydros, the whining will decrease or stop and the transmissions are working again.... hope that helps

Toro ended up replacing the right hydrostatic transaxle. Appears to be working now. No more hissing. No more sluggish movement. Keeps up with left hydrostatic transmission now. They made good on the warranty.

Thanks for posting. My mower wouldn’t move at all. Found out it was a belt. Taking it to have serviced at Ace and not expecting to pay more that a couple hundred. ($95 to pick up and drop off because I don’t have a trailer my mower will fit on)

We have the same problem on a z4200 model 74360 but it's the left side that won't move

I have a 2021 titan max 60” that has issues with the right side transmission, from the day I brought it brand. New the right side lever is stiff and on the slightest incline it will not back up

Mine has 8 hours on it I noticed mine not acting right about 2 hours back . It was on a slight incline it didn’t track as usual and then it felt like the right wasn’t turning at all and the winning has increased. This all started after I got it stuck in my yard.

Sure would be nice to know how or if this problem was addressed by the dealer.

There is an adjustment for each side to set transmission speed.

I have the same mower and the left whines and might me a little "jerky" when cold after sitting a day or so. After a driving a few yards, it goes away. ( Cold means not ran for a while, not cold outdoor temperature.)

I have the exact same issue on the right side on a 2 year old toro time cutter with my ride. When you first crank it it will run ok. After it warms up, which is now around half of an acre the right side starts whining and then eventually quits moving. We sent it to Toro's local warranty mech and he couldn't find anything wrong. At the time i didn't know it had to get warmed up. I doubt he tried mowing with it. This is our first go with a zero turn so I'm not sure what to make of it. I guess I'll have to go until it's completely broken. I have video just like yours but mine only works cold.

1. check the tire pressure. 2. check the belt tension. 3.Adjust alignment of hydraulic steering 4. Check the transmission mount, maybe its loose or broken. 5. Should be under warranty, take it in for service.

I have the Timecutter as well. Is the whining sound normal? Because the tracking issue can be fixed by adjusting the lever nuts. With the mower raised, both wheels off the ground, mower on full speed, handles in neutral you will see which wheel is spinning. You would adjust it so that it does not spin.

But my concern is that the hydrostatic is bad cause it does tend to go left. Just curious if that whining sound went away after it got replaced. Mine has 7hrs on it

Had the same issue on a 54 inch Toro. Ended up getting the left Hydrostatic drive unit replaced under warranty. Would have been a $1200 repair otherwise. I will never buy a Toro mower again. Ive had one problem after another on mine.

4 acres seems a lot for a time cutter.Maybe you should consider a radius with bigger hydros.

I'm having the same issue. Mine will run for 1 hr then the problems begin I let it rest for like 15 minutes an it will work again for 15mins again. But my warranty is past due. An fix it will cost me around 1500 .smh
