How Wolfenstein: The New Order is Keeping It Old-School

There is one more thing that makes The New Order decisively old-school: each time the player starts a level, BJ is only armed with a knife, reminiscent of the fact that BJ starts with only his basic weapons at the beginning of each episode in Wolfenstein 3D.

We need to remove regenerating health from FPS games. They've ruined all the tension because you know you'll never die as long as you just cover yourself for 5 seconds. I love being able to win a game of quake by killing 3 enemies with just 50 hp remaining.

I don't get why it's even worth commenting on when video games do things that don't make "logical" sense. Who cares? They're not supposed to be logical. They're games. That's like asking why players "don't just use their hands" in soccer. Yes it would make the whole affair easier, but the point isn't to be easy.

I like how there's no id Software working on this game (it's a shame though), but yet developers are holding on to the classic in many many ways!

i would love to see the portrait thing at the bottom changing acording to the damage taken in the HUD... it's a nice thing on wolfenstein, plus I love how the guys seems to get angry when injured =D
