Volkswagen - Reduce Speed Dial

Can a child's drawing make a parent a safer driver? See how Volkswagen installed a simple reminder of a loved one, that slowed drivers at the exact moment they thought of speeding.

One family had no recorded speed infringements after the installation of the personalised speed dial.
One family reduced their top speed by 19kmh from a max of 123km to a max of 104km.
Half of the drivers’ maximum speeds reduced after fitting their personalised speed dial.
Three out of the four drivers reduced their incidence of speeding in 100km zones by 50%.

Overall, all of the families reduced their speed in multiple driving situations.

At 2:40 the VW driver doesn't even have their headlights on. (Those are the DRL) Maybe the kids should design a headlight switch too.

That's nice, but why make not just make cars that can't go that fast? I mean when would you ever need to go faster than 120?

I don't get what the Combi van has to do with this?  It's only available in new VW's right?  That whole bit makes no sense. Otherwise it's a cute idea for vehicle customisation, but I highly doubt the statistics VW are quoting - lets see some real scientific testing done before making such claims.  I have two boys and I'm afraid with them it's me who has to be sensible, since they just constantly want me to floor it.

Instead of changing the Speedo Numbers into barely readable sketches of children, which cant probably comform with ISO regulations, car manufacturers should REMOVE distracting Systems out of their "Infotainment" Systems. What this video actualy telling is " If you dont car4e about your life, think at least about your children".
I would feel safer on the road, when a computer would drive the car instead of a human.Computers dont overspeed.
