Both of my Mexican grandmothers make tortillas very differently, and I haven't mastered their technique! So I will have to try this recipe... hope it comes out good. Homemade tortillas are the best!

I'm Moroccan too, and yes Tortillas in Morocco mean the Spanish dish with eggs, deep fried potatoes and onion... it's delicious.
But I was looking for a recipe to make the "wrap" tortillas but with corn.

I am from Canary Islands, Spain and I live in Beijing. Here I had the chance to meet lovely mexican people. I have to say that Spanish tortilla is better than Mexican tortilla haha but I still love Mexican tortillas :P viva Mexico and viva Spain!!

Sour Cream is a fine substitute for the milk. Using it can add a special aroma to your food. I think it doesn´t have too much difference compared with the milk but tastes even better>>>

Interesting recipe:) like all of our food!
There's no such thing as not authentic Mexican food! We are a culture with so many influences and that is reflected on our food!
We are too similar to Morocco on that area;)

No it is authentic, mainly from the state of Sonora, of the north of Mexico. Everywhere else its corn I believe. The kind my mom makes is only flour, salt, hot water and shortening/lard. And if you want richness, you can add "requesón" to the mix, a type of ricotta cheese (if you will).

This recipe sounds okay, but I like to make my tortillas with very warm (as warm as you can stand it) water, shortening/manteca, baking powder, salt and of course the flour. My recipe comes from a border town in South Texas...I've also seen them made with oil instead of the shortening. I guess it's all about preference.
