Of all the overdrive pedals I’ve heard…this is DEFINITELY one of them…

I got one when they first came out for like $100. Can't believe I still have it! My uncle knows the owner/maker and he hooked me up. It's the only pedal I use!

For the price I'd want it delivered by an ACTUAL centaur.

The amp is fantastic by itself. warm, clear cleans and amazing saturated OD tones when cranked. There are dozens of Boost/OD pedals you could pair with this amp in the $120 - $220 range that would sound just as good (or even sweeter, in some cases) A lot of the the
J. Rockett OD's, an MXR SugarDrive, etc.

Ah, the expensive gear video perfectly matched with a generic blues riff. Chef's kiss.

I don't see what's so magical about it.

You could get a killer amp for this price.
Everyday is an IQ test people.

The video is from 10 days ago, these comments are from 3-4 years ago, and seem to be about amps and klon rather than

The test results would be completely different tone palet using a Strat, Gretsch, or other guitar and a different amp. You can get the general idea, but likely would not get the same tones with your specific gear.

Sounds like Billy Gibbon's just walked in the door at the 2:12 mark. It would be hard to get a Les Paul to sound any better than that.

It's just some electronics, easy to make something like this if you know how to solder well. But he, i guess some people think the origional has something holy to it or something..

The real thing is in a class of its own. The clones start out with the basic tone, but they don't respond and change voice in the same way when the guitar is hit harder like that.
I can't accept the ridiculous pricing psychosis that has set in over used examples of this pedal, but there is no doubt that the real thing has something that the copies do not.

So doesn't this pedal have any range to it?
I mean, based on this it's a pretty rudimentary distortion that provides a square wave signal with no real boost. Kind of like a very weak fuzz. Surely it's gotta do more than that, right?

I have a Klon clone from "68pedals" on reverb. it has 2 modes as well. awesome pedal. thank me later :)

StewMac sells a "clone" kit called Ghost Drive that sounds pretty much the same.

why is this telling me that this video requires payment to watch?

They way you demoed this pedal is the equivalent of getting half a hand job.

these videos don't do this pedal justice. loud pedal. if you want more gain the gold is the way to go. but who cares, you will sound just as good with a jhs morning glory. twin twelve or any other transparent overdrive. these pedals are loud and very sensitive. crank your amp and roll back your volume. Blankenship 50w super bass amp (it's basically a marshall superbass) sounds incredible for these tones. save your money! it's funny how many people think this pedal will make them sound great, I'd rather buy a new amp than a 2000$ pedal. learned that the hard way
