‘3-PILLARS’

3-PILLARS: If you practice ‘muscle control’ of the abdominal pillar, it will be subject to two things: a) ability to expel as much air as possible for a quality ‘vacuum’ and b) how long you can hold that vacuum, determining potential practice time ⏳

This comes down to CAPACITY - the former relating to range, and the latter to CO2 tolerance. Both can be trained, and whilst they do integrate in the context of abdominal manipulation, it is not the best context within which to develop them… 🤔

My recommendation: determine three DISTINCT ‘breathing & diaphragm’ (B&D) aspects for practice:

1. ‘Manual mobilisation’, e.g. by using the hands to enter the diaphragm abdominal cavity 🕳️
2. ‘Mapping ranges’, e.g. the full exhale, full inhale, and ‘0-point’. I propose that there are 5 ranges… 📏
3. ‘Apnea’, e.g. breath-holding practices tailored toward developing CO2 tolerance, with “empty” lungs 🫁

You find free resources for all of these 3 areas on the channel or, for an exclusive resource package with full programming, find ‘Breathing & Diaphragm’ on the ‘Elements’ programs page 🧩:

Hi, do you have any experience with or knowledge of treating sleep apnea? I'm wondering if developing Co2 tolerance and doing breathwork practices such as alternate nostril breathing helps with that in particular, or if it improves sleep in general. It seems like it would make sense, but I'm not really sure. also, i started practicing didgeridoo specifically for that reason, but from what i read it will take somewhere around six months for results... any response is appreciated, thanks !
