I have used a red light panel every day for the last 3 years. I have two panels ...one mito & one helios, I prefer the helios (prob because I am a creature of habit and I got that one first). I have no idea how much good - if any it is doing. It makes me feel positive and healthy but that could be skin is excellent for my age, but my diet and exercise is good. I have read many, many studies and have discovered nothing definitive....but I will continue. When I use it I tell myself that it is improving my skin, energising my cells and making me incredibly healthy....that positivity in itself is probably enough to make a difference! I use mine for around 20 mins each evening (front & back). I tried doing only 3 times a week for 3 months but missed it since it is part of my routine and kind of helps me unwind. By the way I use a separate laser on alternate nights for my hair (undoubtedly very effective) and also if I feel my red light panel has been shining on my face directly for more than 5 mins...then I switch off the near infra red part - incase it affects facial fat ...I don't know if it does, and my facial fat has remained in tact! Not sure if that ramble is helpful to anyone!

🎯 Key points for quick navigation:

01:13 *🕒 Treatment times for red light therapy range from 5 to 20 minutes depending on ailment and device size.*
02:22 *🤔 No negative side effects from red light therapy on other body parts when used correctly, with potential benefits for various conditions.*
05:36 *⚡️ More power isn't always better; lower power and longer exposure time may be more efficient for absorption and benefits.*
07:11 *🔦 Power of light measured in milliwatts per centimeter squared, with exposure time and distance determining joules of energy absorbed.*
09:46 *🚫 Misplaced fear around red light therapy and eyes; LED-based therapy is safe for eyes at recommended distances.*
14:45 *🌅 Best time for red light therapy is in the morning or evening, aligning with the body's circadian rhythm for optimal benefits.*
18:42 *⏳ Red light therapy recommended 4-5 days a week with breaks for cumulative benefits, avoiding overexposure or desensitization.*
21:46 *💇‍♂️ Red light therapy shows evidence of promoting hair growth and thickness, potentially slowing hair loss and improving hair quality.*

I’ve been using a Novothor for about 6 years now and have improved my health immensely.
No longer need glasses for my nearsightedness, reduced my biological age by a couple of decades and am in the best shape of my life. Thank you for spreading awareness of this research backed therapy. This really does act as a supplement for modern people who are getting only 1/10th the amount of NIR as our great great grandparents.

I left this podcast with as many questions as I had coming in. The guy basically said everything is subjective.

It definitely increases testostone. I am on TRT and when I started RLT my testosterone levels increased almost 150 points.

When people refer to red light are they automatically also talking about NIR? Meaning both switches are on? Should both be used on the face?

Worth noting that with the basic physics of light, the irradiation intensity falls inversely by the square of the distance. So, 2cm away from skin, will be 1/4 the intensity of 1cm away from skin for a 1cm square area.

I live in Los Angeles California and use my Planet Fitness "black card" membership for their Red Light Therapy booth. I use it for 10 minutes. I completely undress and stand in the booth for optimal benefits. The only question I have is, should I do it 5 days a week? 7 days?

What is the hormetic mechanism? I can understand shorter wavelengths stressing cells. Also, should point out that if this is being used for exercise recovery you may want to leave it for 4-5 hours after the exercise so that the anti-inflammatory effect does not interfere with the exercise response. It's like how people say ice an injury at the time, use heat later. Let exercise produce oxidants and inflammatory compounds, then suppress those things later on after they've run their course acutely.

This is my experience with red light, i used it yesterday my sugar was reading 206 it dropped diwn to 160 in 40 minutes, today my sugars went from 180 to 160 in 40 minutes. Let tell my sugars has been running in 300-400 for a year without coming down, i took TMG same 2 days and my sugars dropped to 90 i am using way less insulin.

I've been using my MitiPro 300 for 10 minutes a day on my face and neck. (Very happy with the results.) Is that too much? Better to skip a day/s? Different experts say different things, so not sure... 🤔

Power absorbed per unit area will decrease inversely to the square of the distance *provided the source is far enough from the absorbing target that the source looks like a point source.*
In practice this means that the distance from source to target is at least 10X the diameter of the source. If the source is 1cm in diameter it must be at least 10cm from the target. Closer than that and it is less than 1/r^2.

Re: "Take redlight when you're expecting sunrise" - For sure!
I used to go to bed at 8PM. When I started doing RL therapy @ 3PM, I couldn't go to sleep until after midnite!

Shouldn't we take some antioxidants to counter free radicals in case of biphasic responce due to overdosing on red light? Because you can never be completely sure you're not overdoing it for a certain body par and on overall exposure.

Power (intensity) is mW/cm2 Joules is mW/cm2 x time exposed
Joules then is the total amount of received energy for the area.

Have I gotten tooo much red light?
Eczema on back has worsened in past 2 years. Could this be due to tooo much red light?

How do you know the proper red light irradiance (mW/cm^2) for knee OA. Are there clinical studies demonstrating the proper dose?
