I feel so sorry for people from the US, health insurance is expensive.

Just so everyone is aware, I really found out why insurance is a scam back in 2020 when the hurricane hit South Texas. My parents have a house right on the bay with a pier and everything. The tip of the Hurricane hit us but out pier was in shambles, our boat came up and was busted, our railing/staircase along the waters edge leading to the water was gone, our fence was just gone on both sides, and our sea wall (separated the foundation of our gazebo from the ocean) was literally in shambles. Insurances (yes, multiple insurances) refused to pay a single penny for my parents to fix everything up again. Yeah, life insurance is different, but we found out insurance companies will gladly take your money but by god you have to walk through the fires of hell and endure the greatest natural disasters known to man before they’d EVER lend you a single penny to fix the damages. Fuck em.

I am beyond grateful to have an employer who cares about his workers and pays 100% of our health insurance costs

Insurance should be free all around. I literally have a full-time job and can't afford to get health insurance that has any value. If i get sick, i will have to just go to a free clinic since i just can't afford to pay for it even at a reduced price. It's insane

I had two major surgeries at once last year the bill came out to over 66, 0000 usd. They were day surgeries so I didn't even spend a night in the hospital. Healthcare costs in the US are insane.

We really need to do something about how unattainably expensive health insurance can be here...

I'm so so glad an also fortunate the UK has the NHS, even though every yr they talk about privatising completely. I think a lot of hospitals are privately owned, but still free for all regardless. I've been in hospital many times, in many wards including ICU an I've never had a bad experience, actually the polar opposite. Up to date essential hospital machinery, an nurses an Drs with great bedside manners. I've heard many situations of the extortionate prices they charge you in the US that do NOT align with the care you SHOULD receive! I've read many times that a family is charged nearly £40, 000 to have a baby. Is it truly that much!? Cause that's theft an extortion imo, but sadly an everyday experience for you guys. Even if you travelled to the UK for treatment on 1st class flights an posh hotel, you'd still save 10's of thousands since regardless 9f what needs done, how much medical care an stay needed, yet get maybe even better treatment over all. In Scotland, any an every prescription is free too, an as a diabetic, i couldn't survive if i lived in the US. Insulin is essential for diabetics to live, so it's criminal what your health care expects you to pay! That's not including the 7 essential medications i need every day, so I'd be into the 0000s every mth! The prices you get charged are disgusting, an they're also playing with the safety of your health

I can pay my health insurance but then cant afford the EoB's afterwards 😂 should get a huge credit back if lige was fair. 29yr old male, healthy, im paying 375 a month without supplemental insurance which is another 110 a month for 50k life, 2.6k disability, and accidental coverage. Im losing 500 a month to not afford to use it if something happens.

Absolutely wild, i have a 5 person family on my plan, it's 125$ a month, and it covers EVERYTHING. ive never been denied anything by insurance, all meds are name brand, even stuff that my doctor said never gets covered.... bam covered in full. I got hurt at work, my insurance has a standard short term disability. So i got paid the entire time. They even have cancer coverage in the plan that caps out of pocket at 6000

When I got divorced, I had to have my daughter on my insurance. It cost as much as it did for me because I didn’t have a spouse. If I had a spouse, it would cost me less than half. Until she was 26, I ended up at the end paying $1400 for the two of us.

It's not health insurance it's all a joke . Go to France, for instance, 20% tax on everything, no medical bills whatsoever.

1300, sounds like a lot. Granted she said her niece is sick. And I personally don’t have kids by my insurance is literally 2$ a month, with pretty good copays on medication and coverage if I were to need a hospital.

Women need to be held accountable. We as men have to pay, they are no different

Wait a minute…doesn’t the courts require some form of proof of cost? She could have spit out any number she wanted? I’m pretty sure we don’t just go off of “good faith”

Did the judge check to see what the person makes at her job before ruling that she pay that huge amount of money? What is the woman supposed to do to pay basic expenses after paying the child support and health insurance?

Sadly, the court system doesn’t do a good job of verifying those numbers, so sure may have not been telling the truth. It normally doesn’t cost anything to add a child to an insurance policy that sorry has children on it. My ex-husband tried to say he was paying more per child, but I keep really good records, so it didn’t work.
