Had chard growing in Montana into Oct. It is sprouting now in March. A small 5x5 area grows so fast you can graze on it all summer.

I am a groundskeeper for my church here in Cheyenne and I love the ease of growing and maintain these flowers especially because our church colors are blue anyhow it’s great you know who will be buying from you more I love the varieties and the heirloom!!!!

Do you have to put swiss chard after the seeds have been planted in the light

I'm trying to grow swiss chard for the first time (South Carolina), and I've found that it absolutely cannot stand the heat. As soon as the temp gets above about 85 F, just a few minutes of direct sunlight and it falls over and dies, similar to some of the weaker lettuces. It is definitely not a "hardy" green, as you describe it. It's extremely sensitive. Even in the shade, it cannot handle any heat above about 80 or 85. I've moved indoors now and will try that permanently.
