Hello my friend! I have a new found respect for Swiss Chard after growing it and tasting it for the very first time two weeks ago! It’s absolutely delicious and the crazy thing is the stalks are the best parts! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Jag 😊. I am a lazy gardener from NZ who loves chard.
Last season I let my chard go to seed to self seed around the garden.
Instead of removing plant I left it to rot down to feed the worms beneath my avocado. It became a tall trifod.
It continues to grow still and has forty odd perfectly formed plantlets on now thick tall stems.
I harvested these whole and used over our milder winter and still the plant kept on giving more plantlets. They have stems but no roots. I am going to break some off, plant and hope they grow roots.
Truly a generous provider 🤗. It can be eaten raw sliced up after removing the stem. Cook stems separately and top with a cheese sauce.
We have different colours called
Rainbow chard.
It pays to be untidy in the garden 🤗
