Pure Michigan.... I don't think people know that some parts of the lake (especially in the Upper Peninsula) can look very much like the Caribbean. Makes me nostalgic for the home of my youth.

I grew up going to those shores; traveling up from Chicago. I been missing it much. I live in Nor Cal for almost 30 years. But this place Lake Michigan calls out to me.

Folks, go visit downtown Holland and South Haven. Also, when in holland, visit the big red lighthouse beach and the state park one mile from the lighthouse: stunning and gorgeous.
Been vacationing there for years and never even considered spending relaxing time, fun time, and boating time anywhere else : everything is perfect and everything is right there.
And Lake Michigan sure offers some big waves: rough waves are always fun for me

Lake Michigan is the reason that Chicago is referred to as the Third Coast. Chicago sits right along the south west coastline and it gives the city the look and feel of a coastal city. It’s really amazing!
