Scientists Discovered Mysterious Holes in Lake Michigan

Did you hear about the weird holes scientists found at the bottom of Lake Michigan? Divers exploring the lake stumbled across perfectly round pits that look like something out of a sci-fi movie. At first, people joked it might be aliens or underwater crop circles, but the truth is still pretty mysterious. Scientists think the holes might be formed by methane gas escaping from beneath the lakebed, or maybe by strong underwater currents eroding the sand. What’s even cooler is that these holes are home to unique ecosystems with strange microorganisms. It’s like a whole underwater world we’re just beginning to explore!

I worked at the oceanography dept at the doctoral research university called Western Michigan University and the top professors told me that the Michigan triangle has more disappearances than any other place in the world, per square mile, even more so than the Bermuda triangle…Now I have seen all types of science television documentaries that are saying the same, reinforcing these expects. Clearly those experts at WMU knew what they were talking about. Also, Ever heard of the Michigan Stonehenge? It’s real and they found in Lake Michigan on accident while looking for sucken ships as Discovery Channel did a documentary on

I moved to Michigan a year ago from Indiana. I always lived within 10 minutes of Lake Michigan and it isn’t a lake it’s an inland sea. Lake Michigan is a very dangerous lake and they find new things about the Lake every year.

My mom always told me stories about how your foot can get stuck in those underwater holes and they’ll pull you under. My family is from Benton Harbor, Michigan.

You can study maps of the bottom of all the great lakes online. Lake Michigan gets 900 feet deep and has very interesting bottom structures i never dreamed were there. I lived next to Lake Michigan for 59 years.

There are round sinkhole lakes all over Michigan, no surprise there are sinkholes on the lake bottom too.

great video, very intriguing! i’ve always been fascinated by Lake Michigan, but honestly, the idea of mysterious holes makes me wonder if there’s more to it than just natural formations. some people think it could be a sign of something more unusual happening beneath the surface. what do you guys think?

Why haven’t they said anything about these Sink Holes on a show called “Draining The Great Lakes”. Etc. Ocean, rivers. I believe that is on National Geographic Channel.

There's also a theory of an asteroid event causing multiple impact craters 13, 000 years ago, much like what caused the Carolina bays.

Very interesting discovery! Another possible explanation might be the world-wide flood in Noah's time. There are so many footprints of that flood all over the world.

Need to take soil and mineral samples to see if there would be a reason for drilling
