Lake Michigan, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, attracts large seasonal populations. The wealthy own lakefront properties, and the people of Chicago, Milwaukee, and parts of Wisconsin use the lake mainly for recreational purposes.

Lake Michigan is the perfect local getaway during summer, known for its giant freshwater sand dunes and many beaches. Many people attracted to the area for fun in the sun forget that this great body of water is the deadliest lake in America. What lives at the bottom of Lake Michigan, and why is it so dangerous?

Incorrect, dangerous advice on rip currents. You should not float out with the current because it can take you out a long way, too far. One should always swim parallel with the shore to escape the rip current, and then swim back to shore.

I have been diving Lake Michigan for 50 years. Out in the southern middle is a shipwreck named the Thomas Hume in 150 feet of water.
On many days 20 or 30 feet down, you can see the wreck below you. Unbelievably surreal.
and oh, you forgot to mention the giant black hairy creatures.

I was born and raised in Chicago. Went to Oak Street Beach a lot in my teen years. Lake Michigan is so hugh, it should be called an inland sea.

Those are the most beautiful freshwater fish I've ever seen!
Get your editing correct, and don't show salt water fish when you're discussing a freshwater lake.

Southern lakes Michigan and Huron are warmer in the summer than Southern California beaches and water.

That is incorrect and dangerous advice on escaping a rip current. Don't add a psa if you don't know what you are talking about.

You should make sure that you are showing freshwater species. We do not have crabs. Some of the fish species shown were saltwater. Another pest to humans is swimmers itch. Look it up.

Wind.. If you dont have a motor.. say your on a kayak or anything thats self powered.. it doesnt stop., the wind will blow you out easily .. boaters in chicago will not stop to help you! You can try to wave them down.. but its the most narc infested city ive ever lived. if your lucky enough to even see another boat.. that lake is huge and you may be too small to even see

Milwaukee has a far more extensive relationship with Lake Michigan than Chicago does. I’m not sure why you mention Chicago but not Milwaukee.

Why is the video showing saltwater species living in Lake Michigan? Also, Lake Michigan doesn’t look like pea soup! Yeah, I learned something alright!
