At 72 I’m a commercial driver driving a simi, if you look at statistics young drivers are the ones pilling up on the interstate. All those younger driver have never taken a drivers Ed course, they learned how to drive by watching their parents from the back seat screaming and yelling at traffic, they are always in a hurry and never think about the consequences of how they drive.

I turned 70. My whole life, I've had a perfect driving record; no violations, no tickets, no accidents, no glitches. Yet, I was forced to go thru that dmv insult bs to renew. While I was testing, I was amazed by the number of 20's, 30's, & 40 yr olds that failed. I passed.. It is what it is folks.

As a 74 year young driver I am constantly appalled at the driving skills demonstrated by young reckless drivers.

It's the aggressive teen drivers, drunk drivers, texting drivers and out on free bail felons in stolen cars I'm worried about.

I was an auto claims adjuster in California for 30 years and in all that time I never had a disproportionate number of claims involving drivers 70 years and older. I sure would like to know where the state legislators got their information that said otherwise.

If they are going to do this for seniors, then they should be doing the same thing for any drivers under 25 as well.

If only the DMV wasn't a pain in the ass to go into.

The absolute worst drivers on the road are those under 30 years old. Speeding, tailgating, anger issues (while blasting their horrid music), and texting while driving. When was the last time you saw a 70+ driver doing these things?

Truck driver for 15yrs
All the accidents I’ve seen only about 10 percent were caused by seniors
Immigrants that don’t respect the laws of the road
Should be retested as well

Imagine having driving restrictions for drivers but a 80 year old leading the country doesn’t.

But they’ll give licenses to people who can’t even read the the hand book or the traffic signs.

I have witnessed that most of our senior drivers drive better & more cautiously than younger people (20's-40's) out on the road who tend to be distracted, on their cell phones, & cutting off other drivers that are going the speed limit because they are in such a big hurry to get nowhere.

I seldom hear news about car accidents with senior drivers. This should be applied to younger drivers most often over speeding and overtaking unsafely

It is not the senior that are reckless; the young with fast cars that drive 100+mph on the fwy zigzagging between cars.
