For all the Bangladeshi commentators and Indian doomscrollers, the members heard EAM's speech and then proceeded in both houses to discuss the business of the day which were much more serious. In Rajya Sabha, it was on the debate on renewable energy and the government's answer to opposition's charge of its lack of commitment to renewable energy production.

And in Lok Sabha, they discussed the budget especially on the controversial GST hike on insurance premiums and other products and the removal of indexation of real estate. Serious issues which both ruling party and opposition members felt the need to to highlight. Which led to the general discussion on the issues with the new budget.

This is as apolitical a government can get. Despite many incursions of Bangladeshi internal affairs in our politics, government of the day does not open its mouth. Not even when Chakma refugees were flooding during the Zia era. Not even when Khaleda Zia went on a rampage to support ULFA making Dr Singh's manifesto goals harder (this Bangladeshis is what you call interference), did the government mention any internal matters or Bangladesh in the house. EAM would give a statement and house would move on with the main item in the agenda.

For context, we had a larger discussion on Ukraine and Indian students trapped there.
