Bangladesh Crisis: MEA Says No Update on Sheikh Hasina's Future Plans for Asylum

India's Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday that it is closely observing the situation of minorities in Bangladesh. Speaking at a press conference, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that it is the responsibility of the Bangladeshi government to ensure the well-being of its citizens. Talking about former PM Sheikh Hasina's visit to India, he said, "Our External Affairs Minister has already explained that the approval for former PM Sheikh Hasina to come to India was given at short notice. The situation is still evolving as far as Bangladesh is concerned."
