I currently still own the original IPhone SE 2016, the iPhone SE 2020 and the iPhone 13 mini. The iPhone SE 2016 was not marketed or priced as a mid range or budget device. It was a “non-gigantic” flagship device.
If you bought the original iPhone SE 2016, and still rock it today, you’ve done very well for yourself and saved plenty of phone money. It’s 6 years later now and you deserve a radically upgraded device to buy and hold for another 5-6 years.
The true spiritual successor to the iPhone SE 2016 would be the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini in every way.
iPhone SE 2020 and 2022 are just mid-range phones with uninspired, clunky hardware.

I'll be using this phone until 4G dies. From what I hear, maybe in 5 or 6 years. Only other options are the minis. Great I'm still getting security updates -- currently installing.

I will continue to ROCK the SE (2016) until T-Mobile tells me I can not use it anymore, I rocked an HTC Slider for a few years, until T-Mobile told me to upgrade and I moved to the 5C. I have several phones, Samsung, Note 8, 9 Plus, and Note 9, the OnePlus 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus, but still love me SE (2016) for pocket carry.

the prices you quote for older iphones always seems too low. where are you getting this information ? It seems like only the 64gb / lowest storage models, in bad or cracked condition, can be had for the various prices you've mentioned on several older iPhone models, across several recent videos.

It would be much better to quote on models that someone would actually want to buy. That means cosmetic A grade, never lowest storage tier. And quote the apple refurbished price too. You can get that price even even for models not presently listed the by googling your way to the official listing, which will show the price but say 'out of stock'. When you are comparing new phones to old, the apple refurbished price is the only one that is apples to apples, since you get a device indistinguishable from new, with new chassis, battery and full 1yr apple factory warranty.

se 1 really isn’t bad at all the only downsides are the size and battery life but it’s definitely usable if you have no other option 😭

Came here for a comparison between the first gen SE and 3rd gen SE. wasn’t really asking to be advertised about the XR, I think the interest behind these phones is the size just like the iPhone mini ya know, a XR is bigger then a SE. the audience who’s interested is more gravitating towards the size then price.. good vid thou

Both the iPhone SE 2016 (1) and the iPhone sevens do not even support iOS 16. Why would you recommend to buy the iPhone 7 series?!

Original SE is not that far behind being an older phone. If you only need an iPhone for call, messaging and a little bit of browsing and navigation. The SE is the way to go. Get a 64 or 128 gb for better capacity and a battery replacement and it’ll last with light usage. Not that far behind 2gb of ram was used until the iPhone 8. So, it’ll work.

As for me the greatest iPhone in 2022 will be the iPhone XS 256GB you get all features except for a wild angle lens but all other features are available
