Lol, we shouldn't use free fonts? Most UX designers say that unless it's a logo, or some really special button, we shouldn't focus too much on the font. Good ol' Arial is a neat and legible font. It's simple. It's popular. It's free. Of course, if your website needs to be aesthetic, you need a slimmer font, but even then, there are plenty of free fonts. Don't overthink it.
