1 year on our Off-Grid Homestead in Tennessee

One year ago, we pulled our van home onto 32 acres of raw land in rural Tennessee to build into our Off-Grid homestead. It's been a wild ride of ups and downs from our cabin to our goats. Here's to another year of working towards our dream!

i just bought 10ac in NW alabama to do this. I'm like twice your age tho. didn't want to be doing this at 60+ but that is what life dealt me. I did check out the tiny home thing tho because of the problems you had and no issues in AL (in my county) like TN. Thanks for sharing your journey. For me the move is less about being off grid and more about ensuring I am not homeless in my old age. I may have to live a lil bit rough but I wont be homeless or hungry. The plan is to get the hard parts done and have the place set up so I can leave it to my daughter. My life goal is to ensure she has a forever home when i'm gone. Given the state of the world i believe she will need it in a couple of decades.

Matt, Excellent video. I have been following your channel from the beginning and you and Cass are truly living the American Dream. At the age of 70 and with health problems I am unable to do the same but always dreamed of it, Thank you for sharing your life's with us and most important not painting a picture of nothing but good times.
