The fact that he built his house by himself is crazy but the more crazy part is he videoed the whole thing adding hours to his work

This was awesome to watch. My Dad and I built a house together 4 hours away from where we lived. We worked every weekend for almost 3.5 years. Sadly right about the time we finished, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and passed away 7 months later. Your video reminded me of one of the best times I ever had with my Dad. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Imagine, building your own home from scratch, and then living there with your family and loved ones. It has to be the most amazing feeling in the world. The level of happiness and satisfaction it brings is not comparable to anything else, not even money.

In an age when most men haven't even built a shed, this man charged forward and built his entire house and everything necessary to support it...as someone who has merely renovated many of my own homes, I admire and respect your accomplishments. There is nothing like working with your hands and saying "I built that".

This embodies what a man should strive to be imo and I respect and look up to anyone that’s living like this or making steps toward handling business, taking care of present and future generations of your family, having the for site to plan what it will look like in time and then documenting it all while remaining self aware but still ambitious. I was having a hard time today, thinking about how badly I wanted to do something like this but feeling so overwhelmed by the thought of it, and feeling like I'm not capable of it. This thing you said really spoke to me.

"Sometimes it's hard to know what we're capable of until we're put in situations where we just have to get things done. I've made mistakes, I will make more mistakes, I promise, but anything worth doing is going to be hard."

I wish I knew all that you learned on your journey. Thank you for cataloging so much of it, and for giving others the tools they need to achieve similar goals.
