Tony is so sweet, and her courteous little "I would like to try again" is both tearjerking and heartwarming at the same time. It's like she never had fun and never been allowed to speak about what she wanted, which is probably true.

I thought about this: Nebula was Thanos' least favorite child. That's gotta be worse than death. She was mentally and physically tortured her entire life. It's no wonder Nebula was so broken. And here comes Tony Stark, actually treating her like a human. It's a great scene, but it's so sad when you think about what Nebula's whole life has been like. She might be sour on the outside, but she's extremely sad on the inside.

I love how he treats her like a daughter more than Thanos ever did. Everything Thanos did was for himself, even killing Gamora. Tony couldn't live without Morgan or Peter, and he was willing to die to make sure they could live.

The reason why Tony is nice to Nebula is because he saw himself in her: Both were burdened about not living up to their distant and abusive parent's expectations and said burdens tore them apart, although in Tony's case, mentally. Also, both use cybernetic technologies.

The most fun thing about these movies, beyond all the big fights and comic book moments, is these unlikely character combinations. I still remember seeing Guardians of the Galaxy for the first time in theaters and feeling absolutely baffled that it existed in the same world as Tony, Steve, etc. Felt pretty surreal seeing them finally cross over in IW and Endgame, and it's these small moments between the characters that make the world feel so interconnected and well-realized.
