These Fly By Wire Throttle Body's go bad when they start getting close to 150, 00 give or take 25, 000. Also don't expect them to give you a code either. The one in this video is just starting to go. Could be a dirty air cleaner, low fuel pressure. etc, , ,

You shouldn't manually move the butterfly, doing this can cause the throttle body to become out of synchronisation. If you want to open the butterfly valve, keep the ignition on and keep the throttle wide open.

Throttle body is not that expensive unless you get it from the dealership

I drive a 2005 Toyota Matrix and it does something similar but when it finally registers it ends up speeding up way too fast all of the sudden !!

If it was the throttle body there would be a code since its drive by wire. You def need to do a throttle body cleaning and air induction service which should be done every 30k and every 15k on direct fuel injected vehicles. I would start there before throwing alot of money on a throttle body. Carbon build up and dirty injectors and throttle body can easily cause hesitation. You should put a bottle of techron complete fuel systen cleaner the black bottle not the grey in the gas tank every 5k miles. Its one of the best if not thee best at cleaning injectors and helping to remove deposits. Im a Hyundai factory trained master tech and our engineers swear by it. My mothers 04 corolla had close to same issue only when it was cold with a rough idle and I found that the intake gaskets would leak when the engine was cold and toyota came out with a revised gasket which corrected the issue. So before wasting your money on a throttle body which I highly highly doubt is the issue or you would have etc codes an more issues then just a slight hesitation when you hit the gas I woould start with the fuel system cleaning and throw a set of spark plugs in it if its been over 60k since they last were done

The plate should not be able to flip with the finger so easily for a electronic throttle body. You can almost hear the gear grinding inside if you do that to a new one. This will damage your throttle body and affect the setting.

my friends corolla had this problem. when you got on it from a dead stop it would shift to second way too early and then kick down to first abruptly

Glad I have a throttle cable. Car is a 2006 Matrix (1ZZ-FE) with over 208k miles and runs perfect. Is it worn gear teeth inside the unit?

You shouldn't touch the butterfly. That's the main reason it starts to fail. Youu clean it as it is.

What of if you mistakingly push the butterfly and you have malfunction, how are you going to fix it?
