Useful Angles When Playing Pool | Pool School

This video just gives a few examples of some useful angles that it's worth committing to memory. Whilst it's important when playing pool to be able to work out the angles and the path the cue ball will take, these angles and escape routes might just give you a useful starting point.

The shots are carried out on a 7ft x 4ft UK 8 ball table but most of the same principles apply to both american pool and snooker.

Another concise and informative session - always makes me want to grab my cue and go down the pool hall to practice. Thanks!

Great tutorial. For the first bank shot. If you add a bit if low and a touch of right spin you can shorten the shot down the table. You can experiment by shooting towards the tip of the right side of the center pocket when trying to bank from the first diamond near the pocket for a corner to corner bank. Just aim towards the far side of the pocket on most tables. Using low English and hitting it slow creates forward rotation which will cause you to miss the shot and the reverse is true when hitting it fast with low English. So usually the shot only requires either a bit of high English at a medium speed or low at a slower speed but it's a good way to experiment with spin to see the effect. You can set up a ball in the corner in various positions by the pocket or just practice without the ball.

Hi, your videos are fantastic. I bought a pool table last year and have stagnated a little in my practice. I was wondering if you could do a vid on the 30 degree rule for & tangent rules?

Trouble with having your own table, is that you get too know your table far too well & one way to put mates off playing on it if you beat them far too much ?

Why are there no diamonds on your rails? Is this a 6' table?

I'm looking for a video that explains angles when directly the balls, not rebounds. Most girls I play pool with don't even understand the basic principle of how the non-cue balls inversely react to the angle they're hit by the cue ball.

Hi I have the same table do you ever have a problem with the middle pockets ie the object ball almost going all the way in then coming back out its very annoying is this something you have ever come across ? Cheers

Some of these shots are quite helpful, but there are a few (like the last one) where the cue ball seems to be placed in a random part of the table, so how do you know where to aim on the cushion if the ball was say 6 inches towards the centre of the table or further down the table?

Lol, try making an UNedited continual video, that includes all the misses, not just the full edit that shows you to be a genius!! A lit of them shots are very low percentage
