The pink slime is from the hotdogs making process. The only different between that pink slime and this is it's beef and it's ground a lot finer. Still just quality meat ground up, nothing to be afraid of

The "pink slime" is actually beef trims (like the last scraps off the bone) that are ground very fine to a paste. To make sure it does not have any harmful bacteria, the finely ground meat is treated with chlorine gas. Then, the paste is fed back into the main batch of ground beef to extend it while keeping it 100% beef. An uproar occurred when the news made it seem like the paste was treated with liquid chlorine rather than the gas. Making it seem that they were making ground beef with chlorine mixed in.
