I feel like these manufacturers have no idea what people actually want... this guy keeps saying that companies need to work on WiFi and apps...

Am I the only one that just wants a simple, good looking range that cooks well and is reliable? Give me features like good self cleaning, griddles, and convection sure, but I don’t need my oven to talk to my phone. And no, I’m not 75 years old; in my 30s.

I have purchased two LG refrigerators, both French doors with lower freezer. My first one is excellent, no problems and it's quite old by today's built in lifespan since I purchased it in 2001 for, OUCH, $3, 500. It's still going strong. Unfortunately I learned a hard lesson with my second purchase. LG and many other refrigerator manufacturers uses screws on the middle hinge on the left hand side door but glues the top and bottom hinges with fake screws. This came apart, was under warranty so the entire left side door had to be replaced. Of course about a month later the same thing happened. We will be in the market for a new refrigerator and this is a problem we have found with the majority of refrigerators we've checked out in stores. I think it should have been a recall because I found multiple complaints on the internet concerning this issue but of course LG (living good) has ignored it.

Why in the lower and hotter reaches of Purgatory does anyone need a wifi connected kitchen appliance?

There are a lot of lower cost high end appliances on the market now. Z Line, Thor, Cosmos are a few. They seem have Chinese parts and are assembled in the US and sold to Lowe’s and Home Depot. My Thermidor range that has been nothing but trouble is getting replaced with a much cheaper Z Line this week. If all goes well my expensive Viking wine fridge that is also broken will get replaced with one of these brands as well. They look the same and can’t be any lower quality than Viking or Thermidor which not only cost a lot to purchase but also to keep fixing. I would be interested to hear your opinion on these brands.

Im not really sure how samsung is affordable luxury some of their products for appliances are a little flimsy

With 34 years experience in the industry, i started at 21 and try and guide people to decent product for the price. I do very well and am honest and up to date in any reviews as things change quickly in this industry. I have zero to hide and zero to gain online, i just don't like seeing bad info being pushed by customer with a faulty product. There are many out there and about 4-5 years ago they were a lesser quality. As for new models right now, they are doing fine in the industry and better than most. Good luck on your next purchase.

I bought all Samsung appliances 6 years ago, and immediately had problems with all but one. The convection element came on by itself sometime in the night and I had to flip the circuit breaker off. They replaced the control board. A year later, after my warranty was over, my ice maker quit working and it cost me 400.00 to get repaired. a couple of years later my oven intermittently wouldn't ignite. The first time, the house filled with gas. I can't find anyone in my area to repair Samsung, or LG they said. Nobody in the area with touch them. I can manually light it with a lighter, but it doesn't ever get to temperature anymore. We finally bought a new oven last week. Our fridge makes a rattling noise, they we found the cure for. We have to empty it, unplug it, and defrost it over night every 3 or 4 months. I won't buy another Samsung appliance.

i'm baffled how Frigidaire pro is in here, it's a lower end brand owned by Electrolux. Frigidaire Pro is a look compared to Frigidaire Gallery, both are among the most unreliable refrigeration/dishwasher brands out there. I'm also shocked by Jenn Air being number 1 since it is a whirlpool product, pretty much kitchenaid with flush built-in's and fancier wall ovens, their best dishwasher is made by bosch. .Guess its what you want to sell that gets the gold.

The worst and most current refrigerator I have ever owned is Samsung. It's a disaster and their customer service is beyond terrible. Also, I don't need wifi to know when I am out of milk. 'Smart Appliances' are completely over rated. I just want appliances that actually work beyond 2 years and god forbid 20 years. Doesn't seem too much to ask consider what we have to pay.

From what I hear Samsung is not a reliable brand. I would rather buy from an american manufacturer that still builds here. I know Samsung and LG have factories here and Americans work for them but that money goes back to their country of origin.
