How to simply hold a pen for beautiful handwriting

I tried to hold my pen like that. While it indeed is much easier on my hand, I have literally no control over my handwriting.

Why does my thumb slip down while writing with a normal pressure on my pen using the grip mentioned in the video ?
If i hold it lightly then it slips and if i hold it tight then it just creates a dip in my index and thumb which is painful.

That’s actually not a good way to hold a pen. You are stressing the DIP joint of your pointer finger by making it concave like that. This will cause pain if one does any extended writing.
