hey I am getting an error when I enter the IP or vnc address into my vnc viewer on my windows desktop. It keeps saying that the other end is taking too long to respond and it's timing out. Any reason why this may be the case and how to fix it?

Looks like all you do is explaining how to use VNC on a local network. BUT THAT IS NOT REMOTE CONTROL.
VNC works remotely only if one understands how to open and redirect ports on their firewall/router, which is less than 1% of users.

Rubbish. How can you 'control your mac from anywhere' when you are using a 192.168.x local IP address. This will only work on a local network - not through the internet.
