Love nuking Ray with a Mimikyu. Immune to dragon moves and extreme speed...so pretty much the moveset that everyone uses.

It's a 5* Raid, I'm honestly not seeing all that much that can go wrong with it, then again, we can likely use the old Dialga/Palkia raids as a reference for how this raid will work overall...
Eh, I'll go Iron Hands for my first attempt, if that fails, I'll pivot to something else, doing all the 7* Raids has given me quite a backlog of mons I could use for this.

A fewof my pals that are a bit more casual in pokemon are also gonna be doing this one, and we'll be using some of our favorites as a group to catch it! My buddy has his Shiny lugia he hunted in HGSS, another of my pals has his new favorite pokemon ever, shiny tinkaton that we ribboned up, the other pal is a big fan of salamence so he's got one from Ultra Sun he treasures and i'll of course be using my ribbon master Sneasel to triple axel this foolish ray down >:) Another accomplishment for Vandal the 100x Victorious ! (Best title ever)

This feels like an event that will bring people back to SV, hopefully they follow it up with more

I feel so bad for literal children trying to do any of these events without the absolute most minmaxed pokemon possible, it feels like they completely cut out the 5-12 year olds who aren't terminally online by not suggesting/teaching ev/iv systems in game

I cannot wait for this event. It'll be my first shiny Legendary to catch. Also loving the green screen effect.

I may stick with the Flutter Mane or Clefable build as they helped me a lot in 7 Star Tera Raids.

I don't think Rayquaza will be steel types because the Pokemon company provided hints with the mass breakout of tinkaton, corviknight, and belibolt as possible Pokemon to help in this fight. At least two of those have steel capabilities

Everyone you should wait until the raid gets here . Dont waste your candy and money training up something just for it to get wiped once the raid releases due to an oversight.

Swords dance Zacian, Arceus Fairy or Ice, Magearna, Calyrex Ice Rider, all of them will make quick work of this Rayquaza

Tinkaton is another really good Fairy build that can also utilize it's steel typing as a defense against Iron Head and Dragon Ascent

Azumaril might be a decent choice because the water typing will neutralize iron head

Malamar with fairy tera, topsy-turvy and playrough is the first basic set that came to mind. Maybe add swagger and switcheroo with flame orb?
