*Edit 1 minute 24: I should have said 8.2p, not 82p, thank you Jamil!*

The Peugeot 107. A car designed for the masses, but mainly purchased as a first car or last car.

It sold very well in the UK, but should you buy one today?

Join me today where in this video, I will attempt to answer that question and put the car to the test with a 0-60 run.

I bought an aygo for commuting, it's absolutely fantastic. £20 a year tax, average 60mpg. Can work on it myself to save service costs. Did suffer from water ingress but easy enough to fix. Cheap insurance and running costs means everyday motoring is affordable

My Citroen C1 has passed every MOT since 2011. It sips petrol and fun to drive. I won't get rid of it.

Brilliant cars👍 Just bought 2 Aygos for me and my wife, no tax, insurance 240pounds for both, 55mpg. Not bored with it at all after 6 months bearing in mind my previous few cars were Impreza WRX, Skyline GTR, Mini SD and Audi TT quatro.
66 Plate Aygo is not excessively noisy, boot is great for shopping (2 seconds to drop the seats) acceleration is more than fine for city driving especially if higher revving in lower gears. Occasionally use it on motorways and is fine at 70mph. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending these cars, but I certainly prefer the new shaped model and with the screen in the dash.
Just my opinion from someone with 30 plus years of driving and sick of costly repairs and hefty running costs.

I own a xf jaguar and a lexus and a 2010 Peugeot 107 millsim. Since I purchased my 107 i only drive this little beauty, it's very nippy cheap on fuel and handles like a go cart, best car I've owned

I've had my Peugeot 107 2006 for 5 years or so, it's a fantastic little car and I do my own maintenance. It usually passes the mot but every other year I have to have welding done. I'm in my 60s and it's fine for what I need it for, I have gone off camping in it too.

Sound deadening can be improved a lot for approx £20 the boot and rear arch's being the main culprit.

Mine has run over 235.000km (146022 miles) and still purrs like a kitten and starts every single time. It's a rock solid engine. Best city car I have ever owned. Gets me from A to B in no time, and it's dirt cheap in fuel cost, insurance and maintenance. If something breaks down, you can easily find spare parts online and just plug them in. Of course if you have no idea how to replace the transmission etc. it's going to be a tad more expensive, but not by a lot compared to newer cars and all their electric crap.

You didnt hold second gear long enough in your 0-60, its good for a screaming 50/55 mph before you move to third and its where the bulk of the acceleration comes from between 0 and 60. That little Daihatsu engine can rev its balls off when pushed. We have had our C1 for 11 years now, it has barely cost us anything.

In France, many vehicles are going to be banned in city centers to reduce pollution. And luckily, these small cars are very ecological, so they will be allowed. Besides, it is a good idea to own one, because it allows to drive in small city centers.

I live in semi rural area, got an Aygo version. There's tons of them around here, when you have hills galore, you save so much on fuel.

I love this car! Everything you need to get to where you are going. Clean styling, and I really like the red color. Nice video.

Wow that has a tiny interior! Looking forward to seeing what comes next

this is why I think the Fiat Panda is the perfect small car. It's got the same credentials as the C1/107/Aygo plus extra space, extra doors, more height and a slightly more revvy engine.

They are a great first car not without their faults.
Engines get smoky and rattles when cold with mileage and start burning oil they have a small oil capacity.
But keep them top up with oil and they go on and on.
Poorly maintained ones the vvt can clog up causing the engine to hold back at around 4000rpm. Will still Rev out.
There is normally a drop of about 5/10mpg.
5 door model the rear windows the bonding can fail causing the rear window to fall out but is an easy cheap fix.
But parts and servings are cheap and I know someone who had a big accident in one and they stand up very well.
My wife had one as her first car a 2 tronic (automatic)and I have brought one for my daughter as a first car.
I don’t think you can go far wrong with them

I've had a 3 door Aygo and delivered packages with that one. Don't underestimate the size you get with the back seats folded down! Those cars are surprisingly spacious.

I've been learning in a black Peugeot 107 2011,
It's quite a fun little car and doesn't look too bad in black.

And honestly I'm prepared to put up with some of it's faults for that insurance quote and those cheap as chips running costs haha

Having the pleasure of driving a 107 3 weeks ago for the 1st time from Birmingham to Carlisle, I can say it surprised the hell out of me, 145K on the clock and it drove sweet as a nut, I say get the rpm over 3K and it wants to pull, and will sit at 70-75mph no problem at all, but the best thing of all was the fuel full tank at Birmingham.. drove all the way to Carlisle . Then around Brampton.. drove back... got diverted at St helens added another 30 miles on didn't need to refill until just after Stafford.... the fuel consumption is brilliant.... would I have one??? Yes I would!!!!
