I read somewhere a quote that seems very apt to what is going on. “The old world is dying, the new is struggling to form: Now is the time of monsters”

Ian does not make sense altogether when describing who could be in Trump’s cabinet. The fact that he suggests Pompeo could be in the cabinet directly files in the face of what Trump has already said about it and gives me the feeling that Ian is living in the past and is not really paying attention to what what Trump has recently said. No mention of RFK or Tulsi as part of the transitions team adds more weight to my theory here.

This is a very interesting conversation. I would be concerned about a leader who is making decisions without any kind of transparency or without listening to experts or people in their own cabinets.

Like or dislike Ian Bremmer, at least this is an intelligent and interesting discussion. These comments are typically unintelligent.

A very objective analysis, which doesn't show a bias towards Harris or Trump. Despite this, the Trump fans and bots are out in full force in the comments section. This is deeply disturbing, because this guy should be praised for his objectivity and insightful analysis.

I would rather have a collaborative leader that listens to many people around them. No matter how informed or experienced events are constantly changing. It is always wise to seek opinions of as many as possible. The older people are the more they feel that they’ve seen and they know, and they aren’t as likely to ask others. That can be deadly.

This is actually one of the most objective and neutral current political interviews I’ve seen in a while❤ well done TED! ❤

Just another Trump apologist. Just amazes me how highly educated and principled people just lose their ethical tether when it comes to Trump.

Imported labor is largely in the agricultural sector which is seasonal. If wages went up in agg, it would make more sense for young people. Particularly 17-20 year olds, who are still figuring their lives out. If they have an opportunity to work hard for a summer or 3 while they decide what to do next, they can get off to a better start. Food prices will rise in the near term but automation is driving down prices in the long term. More importantly more income for young people is more stimulatory for the rest of the economy than remittances. Remittances aren’t even that good for the recipient economy because they don’t get the value that was generated by the labor.

All I know is that with 12 years lost in the U.S. in the fight against global warming during GQP administrations, we can't stand anymore climate change denying politicians at the local, state, or federal levels. We lost 8 years during the 'it will hurt the economy' W. Bush administration and 4 years during the 'it's a hoax' Trump administration. The only thing which will save us from more of the same is younger voters taking charge of their futures and voting in mass for their future and the future of the planet.

The entire world needs to handle its own business for awhile while we straighten ours out and get the country back on track.

This is a fairly objective analysis, but at times Bremmer is charitable to Trump to the point of sanewashing him.

It is is hard to believe we are hearing anything real. The problem with lying is that it inevitably leads to contradictions.

Thanks for calling out the insouciance of this nation's wealthy. They take democratic law and order for granted. But that's how the French and Russian nobility thought, too.

All anyone needs to do, is look at the current state of the country, and listen to a few of Kamalas interviews, to make an informed vote come November 🤷‍♂️
