Repentance unto salvation is turning to Jesus, not turning from sins.

Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh. God can choose whatever conditions He wants to give mercy to a man and save them. He chose to give mercy to those that live in the Spirit of His Son's life, meaning they have to turn from sin. No turning from sin, no forgivness it's simple.

As John the Baptist taught. We must be baptized unto repentance for the FORGIVENESS OF SINS. No one can pay your sin debt for you. If we repent the Father is faithful to forgive us. The prodigal son parable shows this clearly. No blood sacrifice was required as also King David, Zacheus, the woman caught in adultry proves.
